Just because you pushed a tiny person out of your crotch doesn’t mean you’re suddenly not subject to human fallibility.
No, but she can still flaunt tge 5th commandment on her own daughter, even if she doesn’t mention it. In this case, think of it as her saying “I know I’m right about you.” And/or “just shut up and do what I say.”
Mothers haven’t yet had a good showing in this comic – David’s is the only other I can think of, and we all know what _she’s_ like.
It was both intended and unintended at the same time. Intended in the fact I meant for this for the individual characters, but not so much for mothers as a whole, considering we’ve only seen interactions with David’s, Stacy’s, and Manuel’s. I haven’t had reason to bring in anyone else’s parents so far.
Well, I think it´s uncommon in comics to see mothers as that power/authority figure that´s a bit too hard to wriggle out from. Also, David´s father in his off-screen performances didn´t look exactly as an impecable parent figure… so I think it´s more that in the story both David and Stacy have had the short end of the stick in their lives, more or less… and that includes to some extent to Manuel, but he has at least his bro, but who knows… Life´s hard for these people. Were it easier, we wouldn´t have this nice comic, don´t y´all think so?
The cases for David and Stacy are quite different. And Stacy has admitted that she caused the rift between her and her parents. She’s actually trying to own up to a lot of it, but her parents don’t see it that way. I’ve already clued in that the guy stalking her is part of the reason for the situation at hand. David on the other hand, is a case of having different expectations of him. Even having parts of his life just between him and his father that he has had to keep secret from his mother simply because of the consequences (and to a much easier extent, his life with Kyle). His father was actually lax with him, but he still expects him to take care of himself. Hence why he told Kyle that his mother showing up was David’s problem to solve. Manuel’s case, his family life is actually relatively functional. The problem is only coming out now that he’s in a position to make decisions for himself and his mother laying down her expectations of him. The problem with this is these expectations are not lining up with him. His father wouldn’t care, but she’s in a position to be responsible for how Manuel turns out.
Sure Manuel had his brother to go to as well, but don’t forget David had Kyle as well. If it weren’t for Kyle, David would be in a worse position than he already is.
Yes im Sure Mrs. Hitler thought that too
I do not have enough information to confirm or deny this claim nor determine its relevancy.
Generally, the mothers I’ve known who have used the mothers are always right claim have the worst track record for being right. It’s almost like they believed it enough they decided they didn’t need to ever double-check their thoughts.
