To be fair, I wanted David portrayed in a way that it’s easy to forget that. The kind of kid that could walk into a bar, order a drink, and the bartender wouldn’t give it a second thought, not just in appearance but how he carries himself as well.
His non-response to her is less that he’s okay with it and more that he’s brushing it off. He doesn’t hold himself in any positive light whatsoever so he has trouble believing there’s anything good about him, physically or otherwise.
