I will continually say this, David has the “Conscience From Hell”. Forget the Angel/Devil on your shoulder, just someone/thing that beats the heck out of you for setting one pinky toenail out of line.
We do have a Facebook page, believe it or not, and now even on Google+, and announcements also appear on Twitter.
Can’t wait for the next update? View the next update before it’s posted here with a vote on Top Webcomics.
And if you wish to help us financially, we do have a Patreon campaign underway, which includes a potential for sneak peeks and previews at various scripts and writing.
I don’t suppose he has the money to afford it at the moment, and mental health care is probably in the same woeful state where he lives as the rest of the world, but is there some possibility that David will seek help to deal with the split-personality hallucination which currently bars him from any intimate relationship (and no, I don’t mean just sex)? If this isn’t full-blown mental illness, then it’s an awfully good imitation.
It’s actually simply his internal mental conflict personified. No different than ones own inner-critic. Actually a closer representation I would think of would be the Angel/Devil on your shoulder set up. Unfortunately, David has the Conscience from Hell, harassing him over every little thing that goes ‘wrong’. It’s part of the reason why I think he’s hardly phased by Manuel or Victor…because his conscience is a far bigger bully than they’ll ever be. Someone that knows every bit about him and he can’t argue against him and win because he’s always right…period. No this isn’t someone David sees, it’s a representation of his conscience berating him for doing something ‘stupid beyond belief’.
Right now, he can’t even afford to replace the glasses Manuel broke (that will be covered soon). Technically, he actually has access to money, but a mix of stubbornness and knowing the consequences of seeking financial help at this stage would completely dismantle what he’s trying to do to begin with. A lot of how he ended up this way will be covered. Not leaving things hanging.
